Mannequins and other equipment at the Mother and Child Simulation Centre

The wide range of high-fidelity mannequins and other adult, child and newborn life-sized teaching tools enable all users of the Centre to acquire clinical skills and attitudes and practise, simulate, evaluate and teach all specialties.

High fidelity

SimNewB: Premature

High-fidelity mannequin with realistic preemie traits. It can be controlled remotely via computer, after scenarios have been programmed. Ideal for training on specific newborn needs.

 

PremiHal: Premature

High-fidelity mannequin with realistic newborn traits. It can be controlled remotely via computer, after scenarios have been programmed. Ideal for training on specific newborn needs. This simulator is interactive and meets the requirements of emergency medicine.

SimBaby: Newborn or 18-24 month old

High-fidelity mannequin with realistic newborn traits. It can be controlled remotely via computer, after scenarios have been programmed. Ideal for training on specific newborn needs.

High-fidelity mannequin with the realistic traits of a 4-9 year old. It can be controlled remotely via computer, after scenarios have been programmed. Ideal for training on the specific needs of young children.

Noelle and Sim Mom : Mothers

This high-fidelity mannequin represents a mother and simulates various scenarios that may occur during childbirth. This simulator is controlled remotely and can be interactive.

Sim Man 3G

This high-fidelity mannequin can represent either a man or a teenage boy. This mannequin can also be controlled remotely and be interactive.

Other training equipment

ALS Baby Trainer

This mannequin was designed to provide training on the abilities and skills related to resuscitating a young child (around 3 months old), with realistic anatomy for the training. It is perfect for practising advanced resuscitation skills, managing airways, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, vascular access and EKG control.

Nursing Kid (Gabriel(le)

Life-sized child mannequin, providing a highly realistic simulation of a 6-9 year old patient. Designed for training professionals in basic and advanced nursing techniques.

Baby Anne (5)

This mannequin can be used in class, facilitating intensive training and active participation from the students. It simulates a 3-month-old baby, both physiologically and anatomically, and provides training in basic life-saving techniques and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), as well as disengaging a foreign body obstructing the airways.

Neonatal Resuscitation

This mannequin simulates a newborn. It was designed for teaching and practising intubation, umbilical catheterization and umbilical intravenous procedures.

Pediatric Multi-venous IV arm kit (2)

This arm realistically represents that of a 6-year-old child. It is designed for teaching and practising intra and multi-venous puncture.

Baby Arti-STD

This arm represents that of a baby. It is specifically designed for teaching and practising radial artery injection.

Infant Airway Management Trainer (3)

This baby head (newborn to 3 months) is used for teaching baby intubation techniques. It has realistic anatomy for practising oral and nasal intubation, as well as ventilation techniques.

Neonatal Intubation Trainer (3)

This premature baby head is used for teaching baby intubation techniques. It has realistic anatomy for practising oral and nasal intubation, as well as ventilation techniques.

Paediatric Intubation Trainer (2)

This simulator represents a 6-year-old patient's upper body. It was designed for teaching and practising paediatric airway techniques.

Paediatric Lumbar Puncture Simulator (3)

This mannequin was designed for developing abilities and skills linked to the various manoeuvres associated with a lumbar puncture.

Femoral Access Simulator

This mannequin was designed for developing abilities and skills linked to the various manoeuvres associated with establishing femoral access.

Newborn Intraosseous and Infusion Simulator

This leg is perfect for practising establishing intraosseous access.

Newborn Injection Training Arm

This arm simulates that of a newborn. It is a tool used for training on intravenous arteries and certain exercises.

Simulator – Breast Exam (4)

This simulator is used in approved educational health care programs.

Body in the box (2)

This compact tool was designed for learning the skills and techniques associated with the various port-a-cath manoeuvres and care.

Port-a-cath (2)

This thorax simulator was designed for learning the skills and techniques associated with the various port-a-cath manoeuvres and care.
